Located on a 5 acre site surrounded by vineyard and a scrub oak landscape, this single family residence was designed to house a couple and their extensive contemporary art collection. The new residence is composed of iconic metal-roofed gabled and shed elements that create an open courtyard - the village like feel of the composition establishes a sense of place on the relatively featureless site. The composition is oriented to take advantage of an excellent Southern exposure and views, and proximity to heritage oaks on the property.
